What to Wear in Phase 1
To help us help the children develop greater independence, we ask that parents use the Nursery uniform that is easy to put on or take off. The uniform serves as ‘overalls’ that nobody need worry about. Many of the activities in Phase 1 are messy and aprons/waterproof clothing do not always keep clothes clean.
We discourage parents from buying school trousers, pinafores, dresses, school shoes etc. So very often these types of clothes are too big for our young children, hinder their play and are quite uncomfortable for them, especially outdoors, when trying to run, climb, jump, dig etc.
Nursery Uniform:
Red or white polo shirt
Red sweatshirt
Black joggers or jogger shorts
Sturdy trainers with velcro fastening
CLEARLY NAME ALL ITEMS OF CLOTHING - This cannot be emphasised enough! If your child's name is on their clothing we have some chance of getting it back to you.
Make sure your child has a coat everyday. They spend lots of time in the outdoor environment, all year round and the British weather is very changeable.
What to Wear - Phase 2
As a school we encourage all children to wear school uniform when attending school, or when participating in school-organised events outside normal school hours. Our school uniform is important to us as we believe this helps children to feel part of our caring school family. Items may be purchased from any High Street store or at our local supplier: Pauls Discount Clothing in Southchurch Road www.paulsdiscount.co.uk

Pupils participate in numerous Outdoor Learning opportunities and it is recommended that parents/carers purchase less expensive, more easily replaceable items of school wear. It is also recommended that each pupil has a pair of wellington boots available in school on a daily basis, with gloves, scarf and a hat for colder days. All-in-one suits have been purchased by the school and are available for pupils to use to support Outdoor Learning. Please support the school staff by ensuring every item of school wear is clearly marked with your child’s name.
Pre-loved school uniform can be purchased directly from the school uniform shop which is run by the Barons Court Fundraising Committee.
