KS1 Minigames - Summer 2017

On Thursday our Key Stage 1 athletes competed in the Mini Games held at The Eastwood Academy. They took part in 10 different activities, from ladder races, target throws, sprints, jumps, bean bag races, a sport stack station to a parachute station! The idea behind the mini games is to celebrate and instil the values of the Olympic Games, which are Friendship, Excellence, Respect, Courage, Determination, Inspiration and Equality. Our children excelled at them all!

Borough Sports - Summer 2017

On Tuesday our Key Stage 2 athletes had amazing success at the Borough Sports Finals. As a school individual children in their events achieved gold, silver and bronze medals.
We were so proud of all of the children as the borough sports are a real team event and with all of the children doing so well and gaining points for each of their events it meant that we achieved a 3rd place podium finish for the Field events. This is an amazing achievement, well done team a great effort with excellent results!

The curling team played magnificently at the New Age Curling Essex Final on Thursday, coming third out of the whole of Essex! Well done team! Isaac said “It was really hard because all the teams were so good.” Nicole said “It was really fun playing against the other teams and seeing how good they were.” Mr Thornton said “The team played an excellent tactical game and showed some brilliant teamwork. To come 3rd in the whole of Essex is an amazing achievement, and to think we only missed out on 2nd place by a whisker! I’m really proud of them.”
